If we're paying an hourly rate for service and then have to pay again for the usage of the software, well, you can fill in those blanks.
I for one don't like paying twice for the same thing. It's obvious that if it's a recall, that no charges are incurred.at least that's a reasonable assumption. I've also heard of variable rates when this software is used. While I don't know the details on how this software works, I've heard various and conflicting stories that the factory charges the dealers every time it's used on a bike and the dealer in turn, marks it up and charges the rider. The thought behind this is that if this software is made available to 'qualified' mechanics, that owners/riders can have more choices when it comes to obtaining service for our bikes. With some dealer's closing and others barely scraping by these days, should Victory come up with a Sub-Dealer program that allows other qualified mechanics to obtain the rights to utilize the Digital Wrench software?
I can only guess this topic will be controversial and for the Dealers who monitor this site, feel free to chime in.
